The Voice star killed at Florida concert

YouTube star and former finalist on the US version of The Voice Christina Grimmie was killed following a performance in Orlando, Florida. Grimmie was shot by a gunman whilst she was signing autographs and later died of her wounds in hospital. The armed attacker apparently travelled to Orlando solely to commit the crime and died from a self inflicted gunshot wound after being heroically tackled by the singer’s brother. The ordeal has come as a horrible shock to the many fans of the talented young singer and our thoughts are with her friends and family at this terrible time.

The latest series of The Voice has come to a close, Britain’s Got Talent has invaded our screens once again and we are still constantly bombarded with constant updates on the X Factor despite it’s ever dwindling viewing figures. TV Talent shows have become a big part of popular culture, for better or for worse. However all of these shows have been struggling the past few years to gather public interest and have been trying anything they can to keep the spirit alive. BBC fires Sir Tom Jones

The Welsh singer has been dropped as a coach on the BBC’s talent show ‘The Voice’. He claims that it occurred with “no consultation or conversation of any kind” and called being kept out of the loop by the show’s bosses as “sub-standard behaviour”. His replacement, Boy George of Culture Club, will join Paloma Faith (acting as a replacement for Rita Ora), Ricky Wilson and Will.i.am as the celebrity coaches on the upcoming 5th series of The Voice.
